Call to all filmmakers!
The Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers Conference is holding a contest for the best thirty-second to three-minute film made to celebrate writing for teens and children. You can do a spoof of your favorite young adult book or create something original. Funny, charming, informative, serious, artsy...we want it all! Make sure to highlight WIFYR in some way. Think Super Bowl commercial.
Winner gets $150. Last entry due May 30th at 11:59pm. Email a Youtube or Vimeo link of your artistic endeavor tostaff@wifyr.com. Make sure you have enabled downloading.
Most, if not all, films will be featured on our Facebook page, Youtube channel, etc. The film is to be used for WIFYR purposes and not for multiple projects, other than your personal portfolio. We reserve the right to use or not use all films submitted for the purposes of the Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers conference.
Have fun!

ENTER THE All American High School Film Festival!
THE DEADLINE: April 21st at Midnight
All ye filmmmaking Manbears, hear my words! (Or, rather, read them here on this blog.)
The All American High School Film Festival is a freaking legit festival. It is the cream of the crop, the bees knees, the coolest of cool festivals a high school student could enter in all the nation.
And, guess what, submission is FREE - that's right, where most festivals cost a bum-load to enter (everyone is always trying to make a buck these days), this one is FREE if you get it in before midnight on April 21st (after that, it costs money, but not much, so it is still worth entering even if you're late).
Submission is easy - check it out, to it, make it so, be victorious!
CLICK HERE TO READ THE RULES and SUBMIT
Remember - time is running out. You have even less time than you see below... oh, there goes another second... oops, another second less... better hurry..... there goes another second.... and another.... why are you still reading this?.... Time's a wastin'.... another second.... another.... another.......

Last year they loved East Hollywood. Of the thousands and thousands of submissions, they showed some of our films in their trailers - check them out here and here.
One of our own, Peter Lara, even went to New York to represent, yo! Let's give them even more stuff from East Hollywood to love this year!
Submit, submit I say! Submit!
