Advance Films 2022-23 Signup Information

Hey Manbears,

We are happy to announce that the school will be producing several Advance Films this year! This is your time to shine! Those interested in acting, auditions will be held during Term 4 and will have a separate signup sheet.

Those interested in producing films or working on crew, sign up for an interview slot on Spencer's door.

And here's some more information to help you prepare.

Will or Spencer will meet with you at your signup time to discuss working on an Advanced Film during 4th-5th terms! It's okay if you're uncertain on what you want to do, if you are interested in helping, please still interview! Same for if you don't have a crew in mind; we will be happy to work with you if we are invested in your project.

The It's Only a Movie - Short Horror Film Festival is this weekend! 

A condensed version of one of the segments of last year's big film, Sleep Study, is playing.  It isn't the final version of the film, and it isn't the official premiere!  We'll for sure have one of those later this school year with the "Pluto" segment in its finalized form along with the entire Sleep Study anthology film, and it is sure to be a rad event.

But is is always fun to support and be a part of small, local film festivals!  And we're honored they'll be showing this small segment of Sleep Study.

I want to thank everybody, EVERYBODY who helped make this movie!  It takes an army. 

SLEEP STUDY: PLUTO THE TOY PROTECTOR's festival cut will be screening at It's Only a Movie Friday (10/28/22) night along with a bunch of other really cool, locally made horror shorts!!!!

Advanced Films from Last School Year: Screening Tonight!

We've been trying to get the word out to everyone, and if you're just finding out about this now, we apologize profusely!  It has been a wild, challenging, busy school year for us teachers (thanks to the pandemic), and if we didn't tell you sooner, it was not on purpose at all!

Hopefully you've already heard, or if not, can attend on short notice.  We know some of you who worked on the films live out of state now.  We hope all y'all are living life to the fullest and are happy, healthy, and well.

When: Mon, December 6, 7pm – 9pm

Where: Kaysville Theatre, 21 N Main St, Kaysville, UT 84037

*To keep things safe, masks are required for this event (unless you have a medical reason not to wear one).

All are invited - all students who attend EHHS, those who worked on the films, their friends, their family, any guest they'd like to bring. 

Feel free to dress up for a red carpet event if you want.  Or don't, it is not required.  We are just excited to have a bunch of fun!!!!

TELOS tonight was a smashing success!  It was so much fun, and we're so proud of all the nominees and the winners, and we're so grateful to the supportive friends and family that attended.

As promised, TELOS will be online for those unable to attend.  We're so sorry we had to limit our numbers, due to Covid, and we're grateful for your understanding.

Spencer and Will are feverishly cutting together the show to put things up online, but it is taking longer than we thought - and quite frankly - we're tired.  Hahaha!

We're still at the school editing, but it won't be ready for tonight.  I AM SO SORRY.  But the show will be up in the next day or two.

TIME FOR TELOS

 May 26th is Telos!  The theme:  A Night in the Woods.

Here's the dealio, because of Covid, only the nominees and their three guests can attend in person, but later that night (probably around 8:30pm [SEE UPDATE BELOW]), on East Hollywood's Youtube page, the whole show will be up!

See the details below.  And if you're a nominee, bring your own blankets or camping chairs!  See you there.

UPDATE:  The online version WILL NOT BE UP on the night of Telos, we're just too busy, too tired, and have a lot going on with the end of the school year upon us.  We're currently working hard at it, it will be done in the next few days!  

TELOS 2021

Telos is happening!  

Due to the pandemic, sadly we won't be at the Tower Theater, instead we'll just be meeting in East Hollywood's studio!  We are limiting the number of people inside the studio to those who have been nominated.  Nominees can invite up to three people to join them.  Masks are required.

For the rest of you all, do not fret!  We'll put it up on Youtube that same evening.  Keep checking the East Hollywood High Youtube page that night.  We expect the ceremony to be up at approx. 8:30pm.
