We're looking for actors/actress for a short film being made Aug 16-18th. If you'd like more information and/or a copy of the script email drewdanburry@gmail.com
Specifically we are looking for:
6-8 male individuals that look ages 15-17 (white/black/brown/don't matter),
4 male individuals that look age 12 (white/black/brown/don't matter), (if you have any younger siblings, or know any younger people, let them know!)
And a white male and female (playing a mother and father) that look ages 40-50.
In Depth Character Descriptions below:
Dan (12 white male) Dan is an all-around good kid. He's religious, does well in school and athletic. He's not the coolest kid but he hangs out with the cool kids. He's handsome and charismatic and fun. People his age look up to him and he's pretty much your average skinny white suburban kid who plays lots of team sports. Idealistic and morally grounded. He dresses like a dirp, but somehow people don't seem to care that he wears sweats and hand me down clothes.
Paul (12 doesn't matter if he's black or white male) Paul is one of Dan's best friends and he's extremely smart. Smaller and shorter than Dan, he's not as athletic but he's charismatic. He's a little bit the class clown but also smarter than most so it comes off as charming. He wears fashionable clothing (for the late 80's) but nothing too extreme.
Johnny (11 white male) Johnny is a semi-obnoxious only child. Egocentric and insecure = mouthy behavior, he usually gets put in his place by Dan and Paul because he looks up to them. He's kind of dumpy, but in a loveable way and doesn't do too well in school. His dad is the type who spends all Saturday on the couch with a beer in hand.
Adam (12 hispanic male) Adam is a fierce athlete. Extremely competitive. His dad was a star athlete in high school and he dreams of being successful in the same way. He's worldly in the way 12 year olds are. Designer clothes, cool music, hangs out with girls and thinks Dan is weird because of his religion but it doesn't get in the way of their friendship.
Toby (17 white male) Toby is Dan's older brother. He's into Dungeons and Dragons, medieval lore, drawing, woodworking, etc. He made his own crossbow out of wood as well as swords and other weapons. He desperately wants to be respected, by his peers and even by his younger brother. It's what makes it hard to respect him. He's a pushover, passive-aggressive and dominated by others around him. He inserts himself into situations feigning knowledge and people see through him like glass. But he's a good person. Real good. But he dresses five years behind the times and listens to music that isn't cool and people like to let him know how uncool he is. It's a cycle.
Boswell (16 white male) Boswell is a baseball playing, loud mouthed jock. Sarcastic and insecure he pushes his weight around with people who let him. He's not fat, but he's not skinny. He's thick, strong and athletic. He's also cocky and arrogant about the fact that he plays baseball on the high school team. He's essentially a bully and he's motivated by his own inadequacies. He cries himself to sleep at night listening to Morrissey.
Eric (17 white male) Eric is an extremely intelligent individual. He also walks with a limp from a clubfoot. He's self-conscious about that and his good marks in school. He's respected for his intelligence but feels insecure about how he isn't as athletic as most of his friends. But he dresses nice and does well in school.
Joey (15 doesn't matter if he's hispanic or white or whatever male) Joey is really cool. He's younger than most of the people he hangs out with because he's extremely cool for his age. Dresses nice, extremely fashionable. His parents are divorced and comes from a troubled home but he's extremely good to others and tends to be kind-hearted.
Tanner (16 doesn't matter race, male) Tanner plays football for his high school team. Similar to Boswell he's athletic and talented. Strong and fast.
Martin (16 doesn't matter race, male) Teenage jock.
(maybe some extras at church?)
Mother (40s-50s, white female) Extremely religious, extremely strict and extremely loving. Cares about her family more than anything. Expects great things from her boys. Strong character. Runs a very tight ship/household. Idealistic and loving but like I said...strict.
Father (40s-50s, white male) Soft spoken, loving and quiet. When novels are written about moral men they are written about people like this. He has a deep fountain of faith which he draws into and utilizes to give his family the love they need to overcome the world outside.

a VERY cooool Opportunity
We received word that a television station is looking for interested teenage actors to come and audition for their "American Idol" type show!!!
You'll be taped and it'll be sent to California, which is cool!!!
This is for the Spanish Network, KPNC, http://www.lbimedia.com/, - you do not need to know Spanish! Just come ready to show them what you've got. It doesn't just have to be singing, if you can play guitar or any other kind of instrument, that's perfect, too. If you'd like to sing something in particular, come prepared with the music on a CD or something to give to them.
This will be taped and sent to the main headquarters in Burbank, California. If you get accepted, they will pay for your flight to go there and perform again. If you get chosen past that, and are on the show, you could win up to $100,000 and other awesome prizes!
If you are interested in just seeing what it is like, please come on buy and enjoy the experience. They do auditions every six months for this show.
Saturday Jan 17th: 12pm-6pm
At the Valley Fair Mall, Center Quart
If you have any questions, call:
