There's a new film festival in town, and it looks awesome.
If you have a pet, or know someone with a cute animal friend, The First Annual Petdance Film Festival is inviting you to submit your animal-themed films that are 10 minutes or shorter. All species count! You wanna make a movie about your goldfish? Do it!
Entries due Dec. 31st.
This festival isn't only super rad, it is for a good cause. Almost all festivals have an entry fee, some are really pricey, and who knows where the money goes. 100% of the fee money goes to helping animals through Best Friends Animal Society. So, making a movie and submitting it to this festival is both fun AND helpful to the animal world.
Make sure to read all about it to ensure your film follows the rules and covers the criteria.
To find out more info, and to submit your films, please check this link: PetDanceFilmFestival.com

They want you to have a GPA of a 3.5 or higher, so if you're grades are good, AWESOME! Good grade truly do render good rewards. But, that's not the only way to get the scholarship. If you're grades maybe aren't the best, you can submit a strong creative piece and some strong letters of recommendation (they must be from your film and animation teachers), you still have a great shot of getting a sweet, sweet scholarship! Good luck, Manbears!
If the U of U is where you think you might want to go, even if it is just a maybe, get crackin' at applying to the school (Petra can help get you started in the applying process). You don't have to go there in the end, but even if you are considering it and you want to shoot for this scholarship, apply to the school so that if you get the scholarship you'll already be signed up and it won't go to waste, otherwise they'll pass it on to a student who has already been accepted into the school. And, you will cry.
